The National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence against Women will be marked in Belleville at the public library Saturday morning. Each year Canadians remember the 14-women killed at the Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal 19-years ago. The killer Marc Lepine deliberately targeted women. Lawyer Pamela Cross says Canadian statistics show 500-women were killed in a six-year period ending in 2006….five times more than military and police combined. Cross, guest speaker Saturday morning, says it’s also about the working world where women make 75-percent of what men are paid.
