Big Island residents have said “no way” to a wind farm in a “big way”. A group of residents on the small island north of Picton presented Prince Edward County council with a petition containing over 100 names, this week, asking that the Big Island portion of the development by SkyPower of Toronto be removed from the proposal. SkyPower recently applied for zoning amendments to build 66 wind turbines in Hillier, Hallowell and Sophiasburgh, including on Big Island.
