The union representing employees at Invar Manufacturing at Batawa is continuing negotiations on the most recent lay-offs. Spokesman Bill Trbovich of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers says the company has an agreement with Ontario Energy of Canada to manufacture energy items such as windmill generators..he says the last automotive contract ends in 2009. The union is meeting with the company this week regarding any call-backs once the energy work begins. A total of 36-union members were given lay-off notices, putting the work force at 74-as of mid-January.
