Tenders close early next month for the construction of the new Catholic elementary school in Marmora.
Algonquin-Lakeshore Catholic School Board official Bryan Davies says the seven prequalified general contractors, chosen in September, have been invited to send in their bids.
He says the Ministry of Education is providing 3.4-million dollars for the new school, to be built next to the current Sacred Heart school.
Work won’t begin until after the contract is awarded, either in late December or in January.
The old school will be demolished after the new one is finished.
