A Prince Edward County councillor’s request to revert to area-rated property assessement has been rejected.
North Marysburgh representative Ray Best took the issue to the Corporate Services and Finance Committee meeting.
Committee Chair Bev Campbell says municipal staff explained the rationale for the current property tax system, and no further action was taken.
Best was concerned about the taxes North Marysburgh residents were paying, saying the only services they get are snowplowing and garbage and recycling pickup.
