No quick solution at a meeting in Toronto today to Quinte Healthcare’s growing deficit problem.
The Minister of Health, David Caplan, heard from QHC officials, local politicians, and the Southeast Local Health Integration Network.
In what was termed a positive meeting, it was agreed that an independent reviewer would be appointed to work with Quinte Healthcare, and the LHIN, to come up with a plan to deal with the deficit, while maintaining services as best as possible.
The planning process will begin almost immediately, and is expected to be completed within 60 days.
