The city of Belleville realizes Decoma Autosystems is “facing tough times” and has had to make some cuts to “keep the place going.”
That’s the word from the city’s Economic Development manager Karen Poste. Poste says Autosystems is a “significant employer” and is downsizing to “keep the plant viable.” The company closed one of its plants in the Northeast Industrial Park and laid off about 30-workers yesterday (Wed). About 700-people work at Autosystems in Belleville making headlamps for a variety of manufacturers, including the three big automakers.
