Bancroft OPP are seeking the public’s assistance in an investigation into a body found in the York River.
Around 3:30 p.m. Thursday, officers were called for reports of a body in the York River near Hastings Heritage Way.
Police say the body of 40-year-old Matthew Welsh was identified Friday with assistance from the Chief Coroner of Ontario.
No further information was released but the police say an investigation is open and they’re asking anyone who may have information to contact them.
