Northumberland OPP are following up on an investigation into a bank robbery in Brighton this past Friday afternoon.
Investigators say a man entered the CIBC on Main Street just after 3:00 p.m. and passed a note demanding money to the teller.
No weapon was seen, but an amount of cash was handed over and the man left the bank driving westbound on Main Street in a blue Dodge Dakota pickup truck.
Police say they found the truck, which had been reported stolen from the Peel Region earlier that day, abandoned at a nearby church shortly after the robbery and the Emergency Response Team and K-9 Units couldn’t track the suspect.
The suspect is described as a white man, between 25 and 30 years old and about 5’10”.
He was wearing a grey, long-sleeved shirt, dark pants and sunglasses, with a Chicago Bulls ball cap.
Witnesses told police he had a bandage covering what appeared to be a blue and yellow tattoo on the back of his neck.
Anyone who has information on the suspect or the incident itself can call Northumberland OPP Brighton detachment (613-475-1313) or Crimestoppers (1-800-222-8477).
