A bank in downtown Belleville is going to be changing some of its services for customers in the new year.
Quinte News has learned that the CIBC (corner of Front Street and Campbell), will no longer offer Customer Service Representatives (tellers).
Staff will be on site, however they will mostly be available for meetings and we are told that almost all current services will remain.
The only thing available now that you will not be able to do in the future is get out exact change. For example you can get $100, $260, $800, but only in increments of $20. You can not get $45, or $37.50 for instance.
A source says new electronic devices (iPads, computers) will be installed at the site, and staff will be available during the transition. WiFi is also going to be available throughout the bank for customers.
The bank will close for two weeks at the end of January for renovations, re-opening in February 2018.
Earlier this year, RBC (Royal Bank) in the downtown closed, merging with the site on North Front Street.
