A running vehicle burned up in flames at a home in Brighton early Sunday morning.
Brighton firefighters were called to Chapel Street around 7:30 to fight the blaze.
Brighton Fire Chief Lloyd Hutchinson says the homeowner went out to warm up the vehicle in his driveway and returned inside.
He came back out once he heard the car alarm go off, noticed the vehicle on fire and promptly called Brighton Fire.
Chief Hutchinson says the damage estimate is around $5,000.
The homes in the area are safe and no injuries have been reported.
