There will be a march and rally in downtown Belleville on Tuesday. October 17 is International Day for the
Eradication of Poverty and the organization, Poverty Roundtable Hastings Prince Edward will be one of many
participating in the 5th annual “Chew on This!” campaign.
Volunteers will be handing out campaign lunch bags, containing a snack, a magnet and a postcard stating
“We need a Plan” in the fight against poverty and food insecurity.
Everyone is welcome to join in the rally and march which begins Tuesday at noon in Belleville’s Market Square.
It’s estimated 850,000 Canadians visit a food bank at least once a month.
