A Belleville man’s body has finally been recovered from a lake at Bon Echo Provincial Park northwest of Kingston.
Forty-seven-year-old Richard Meeboer vanished after he left his boat to help a woman who was tubing on Mazinaw Lake back on June 24th.
The OPP searched the area for a number of days, and a private firm was brought in this month.
Using specialized equipment in a new search area, the firm found Meeboer’s body and the OPP’s Underwater Search and Recovery unit then pulled him to the surface.
