It is official, Strathcona Energy is insolvent.
In court documents obtained by Quinte News, a judge has handed over operation of the solar panel manufacturer to a Toronto firm, representing the Royal Bank of Canada.
Fath PV Tech of Napanee, Strathcona Energy and its CEO Karl Hollett are all named in the decision, from December 13, 2016 in Ontario Superior Court.
The company under the name Strathcona Energy is in receivership.
The Fuller Landu Group can operate the company as is, however their intention is not known at this time.
On December 19th, Quinte News talked with Strathcona Energy Spokesperson Kelly Rumble, who said the partnership with RBC was over, however there was an intention of expanding the Belleville operation, bringing in 30 to 80 employees.
Meantime it is not known what has happened with the money announced earlier this year from the federal government.
In July, almost $2 million was granted to Strathcona Energy, if 86 came to the Belleville Sidney Street site.
