Charges are pending after a very small kitchen fire in Belleville’s east end late yesterday afternoon.
Some scented wax in a pot on a stove in a Dundas East apartment caught fire around 5 o’clock yesterday.
After being alerted by his two dogs, the resident threw the pot outside and put out the fire himself.
Damage was minor and no one was injured and there was no evacuation of the apartment building.
However, there was no working smoke alarm in the apartment, which is against the law.
