The Community Development Council is concerned that babies in need throughout the Quinte area may go hungry if more donations for baby food are not received.
The Good Baby Box is in the middle of its baby food drive that provides food to 1,500 children in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties. The program is a cost-effective way for parents to purchase baby food, formula, diapers and many other specialty care items for their children.
With only 12 days left in the drive, program coordinator Bev Heuving said she is starting to worry as they have only received 1,500 baby food jars and their goal is 9,300.
Heuving said the program will graciously accept food or money donations. To drop off items visit the CDC at their office at 65 Station Street in Belleville.
The program runs until June 18.
