Quinte West Firefighters were called into action on a hot day yesterday.
Crews in Frankford, Batawa and North Murray responded to the report of a barn fire at Morris Meadows Farm on 1188 Frankford-Stirling Road at around 5:30 yesterday. Morris Meadows is a beef farm.
The barn was fully engulfed in flames once firefighters arrived on the scene.
The hard-working crews were able to combat the blaze and snuff it completely out around 9 last night.
A group of chickens, as well as some kittens, and a cat were lost in the fire.
Outside of the animals, there were no other injuries reported. However, the barn is completely destroyed.
No cause of damage is known just yet.
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
