The mayor of Prince Edward County is pleading with members of council to vote against an upcoming motion that would initiate a road users’ agreement between WPD White Pines and the municipality.
The 27 industrial wind turbine farm proposed for Athol and South Marysburgh is still before the Environmental Review Tribunal awaiting a final decision.
Robert Quaiff sent out an email to council Monday saying the motion represents by far the worst situation that they have had to confront for the good of their constituents for as far back as he can remember.
The community benefit fund would see WPD pay out $189,000 a year for the first 10 years of the project.

The committee of the whole will address the motion Thursday at 1 p.m.
