Another baby step has been taken toward upgrades at Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital.
The Board of Directors for the Southeast Local Health Integration Network has supported Quinte Health Care’s detailed plan for the redevelopment of the 17-bed hospital in Picton.
Quinte Health Care will present its detailed plan for service delivery to the provincial government in hopes of receiving financial support for the estimated 76 million dollar project.
If approved the province would pay for the lion’s share of the capital costs, but close to 13 million dollars would have to come from local sources.
The provincial government already has approved initial pre-capital plans for the proposal.
