Belleville is getting ready to host the world and now the tournament is less than three months away.
In May, 400 athletes from 16 countries, are coming to Belleville for the Women’s Under-19 World Floorball Championships.
The Secretary General of the International Floorball Federation John Liljelund recently spoke to Quinte News about the upcoming tournament.
He credits the local organizing committee for bringing Belleville its first ever world championships.
He says Canada has a chance to move into the top 10 in the world, however there are some other newer teams to the sport as well.
Liljelund says Canadians new to the sport will be attracted to it, because of how similar it is to hockey.
