Market Square in downtown Belleville will come alive Friday night.
It is the 10th annual Sleep Out So Others Can Sleep In event.
Market Square will be filled with tarps and cardboard boxes as hardy volunteers sleep outside overnight, experiencing what it would be like for a homeless person living on the streets.
Money raised goes toward the local branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association.
CMHA Executive Director Sandie Sidsworth says many participants come back every year.
Last year, Sleep Out So Others Can Sleep In raised around $15,000.
The goal this year is $10,000.
