On October 20, 2016 at 12:02 a.m. an officer from the Northumberland detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a green Subaru Forester on Front Street West in Hastings for an equipment violation .
As a result of the ensuing investigation, a large duffel bag with a quantity of suspected cannabis marijuana was seized.
The driver, Mitchell Bell, age 18 of Hastings, Ontario was arrested and charged with Possession of a Schedule II substance – cannabis marijuana – over 30 grams.
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on January 4, 2017.
